INTRODUCTION
In conjunction with the 10th Asian Conference on Analytical Sciences 2009 (Asianalysis X 2009) to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from August 11 – 13, 2009, Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) and Kimia Malaysia, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) are jointly organizing the 4th Biennial Regional Symposium on Total Laboratory Management (QSEL) 2009 as a major component of Asianalysis X 2009. QSEL 2009 is also held in association with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia, the Department of Standards, Malaysia and the Institute for Medical Research.
It will feature the latest developments in Laboratory Quality Management, Laboratory Safety, Laboratory Environment Management and Laboratory Informatics & Technology.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of QSEL 2009 is to provide an opportunity for laboratory personnel to keep abreast with the current trends in the region on laboratory quality, safety, environment and laboratory informatics and technology (LIMS), these being the major elements of total laboratory management.

EXHIBITION
In conjunction with Asianalysis X, an exhibition entitled Laboratory Asia (LabAsia) 2009 will be held at the same venue. LabAsia 2009 will showcase the latest in analytical techniques and laboratory services including instrumentation, laboratory safety, management and information systems, environment and waste management, chemicals and scientific publications.
